Revenge, why are you so?
Revenge you must love to punish people who have wronged you. Taking pleasure in shredding the essence of humanity from the depths of the soul. Will cries of anguish and suffering be your goal for eternity? The smell of human flesh rotting is dessert to you. To finally achieve this one goal must be great ecstasy to that malignant thing you call a mind.
Revenge what is your price?

What will have to be sacrificed to continue on the twisted, contorted road that you are? How many dollars have fueled the hellish furnace that you own? It must be wonderful to see countries, more importantly families die in the wake of chaos that you drag behind. Will all of humanity drown in its own blood for your demonic crusade? Why should we mere mortals die for one madman’s revenge because he was cheated on, a family member was murdered, money was stolen, or some other pathetic plight. Why should we?
Revenge’s best friend is Cruelty.
No matter what time period, country, or reality; revenge will bring his best buddy cruelty. Working as a team you beat, stab, slit, and kill for pleasure. Wrapping tentacles around the heart, poisoning the mind with lies to control Man furthering the cause of revenge.
What a partnership you create in war.
War is the child of you dear old revenge. The powerful influence you have on humans like a puppeteer moving the strings to get what you want done. For war is what you want to have in order for more people to flock to the banner of your evil. Lusting for spilt blood drives the monster in all people infected by you to waste the world in bullets, steel, and disease.
Oh why are you so hard to kill?
The prime example of this idea is Moby Dick. Pursued by men to the very ends of the earth, you have yet to die. The harpoons of guilt seem to never stop you, only to egg you on more. “From hell’s heart…” (Melville623) is where the true form of you itself. All the world could unite against you, and fail. Only forgiveness will end the insanity of you.
Revenge, revenge why can’t you forgive?
A monster you appear as to minds of men. Eyes of pure black rage, Teeth made from icy cold death. Hatred is like an acid that is the blood to flow in thy corrupted veins. The image Roger Chillingworth must have of himself in the Scarlet Letter as he pursues the man Hester cheated with. The only weapon on this world powerful against you is forgiveness.  A shiny silver blade of a broken spirit’s forgiveness with “I am sorry” etched on the blade is capable of ending the dictatorship you master man with. But alas it takes a brave soul to wield forgiveness. Most people take the easy way out by coming to you, revenge. For you are the one who strikes first, plunging your venomous hate and lies into the heart to eat away at it.
What a world this could have been if you never existed. How the history of civilization could have been if revenge never plagued it. But it cannot be so because as long as there are followers of the religion of revenge existing on the planes of heart and mind, we will never be rid of you revenge.
